I'm Melissa Abrehamsen, an expert self-worth coach, licensed minister, and Peace of Mind columnist for the Triangle News Leader, Clermont News Leader, and Sumter News-Sun. I'm also an award-winning novelist agented by Levine Greenburg Rostan Literary Agency.

Most of the folks I coach feel unsure because they're emotionally stuck in the past. I used to be stuck, too. My identity was wrapped up in suffering childhood sexual abuse. I thought the past defined me on a micro level. I remember feeling powerless and wanting someone to take me by the hand and navigate me out of a messy life.
Faith was instrumental in my healing. And yet I came across so many believers who struggled in their faith and stayed wounded. So I became a minister with a mission. I spent over a decade in full-time ministry, where I successfully guided women to empower their lives through their minds, will, emotions, and, most importantly, God's truth about their value.
Common Thread
When women from different congregations and spiritual backgrounds began seeking me out, I realized most shared a common thread.
Poor Self-Worth coupled with a Past Focus Mindset.
They recycled past events, past choices, past decisions, past lovers to the degree that their presents and futures suffered. Emotional scars and self-doubt stunted their growth.
I know what it's like to be trapped in a past-focused mindset, so powerless I thought things would never change.
